Families, teachers and staff gathered on June 23 to celebrate the 58 Colonial 5th graders who will be moving-up to middle school next year. The ceremony featured several speeches by Fifth graders including “Colonial School ‘Where the Friends Are;” by Kate McGovern, “2020 a Year Like No Other,” by Patrick Messina, and “A Look Back” by Charlie McKee as well as remarks from Principal Susan Gilbert and Dr. Cheryl Champ, Superintendent of Schools. All students were recognized during “The Name Song,” and 5th graders Sophie Fisher, Thomas O’Brien and Maggie Reid presented a friendship bench as a gift from the class to the school. The graduates were also paid a special visit by former Principal Tonya Wilson. Congratulations and best of luck in Middle School!
